The capital of the Arica Province and Arica and Parinacota Region, Arica, Chile is the country's northernmost city located at the bend or elbow of South America's western coast. It is an important trading port and has been nicknamed "The City of Eternal Spring" because of its sunny beaches and mild weather. Arica's nearest airport is Chacalluta International Airport (ARI), 12 miles away.

As the city that provides "eternal spring," the best time to visit Arica, Chile is anytime. However, tourism is at its peak in May, January, and June.
