Ban Chang: A Dynamic Thai Destination
Ban Chang, Thailand grew its population when the US military used the U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield from 1963. The minor district was officially created by the government in 1976. Nine years later, it officially became a full district.

Ban Chang, TH has the best weather for tourists during the months of December through April. The busiest months are usually January, May, and December; so, rates are usually relatively more expensive during these months. People are least likely to visit in September, of which tourists may take advantage. One of the most awaited events in Ban Chang is Ban Chang Sports and Fish Tasting Festival every February. It is a celebration of the fresh seafood for which Rayong is known. During the celebration, people also enjoy a beauty pageant, cultural performances, football matches, among others. Another event nearby is Food Festival and Buffalo Racing every October through November in Pluak Daeng.
