The census-designated place or CDP of Matanuska-Susitna Brough, Big Lake, Ak is a town in the state of Alaska. It is known to be the state’s “Year-Round Playground”, with big crowds during the weekend and during their peak season. During the month of January, the city celebrates the Big Lake Ice Race holds different mini-programs to give their visitors their once in a lifetime experience. The Rubber to Ice racing activity during this annual event lets non-caged cars to race, with 2-wheel and 4-wheel categories.

State parks can easily be located in Big Lake. One of them is Big Lake North State Recreation Site has a wide space for a campground, boat launch, picknic areas and jetski rentals. Big Lake South State Recreation Site, compared to the first one mentioned, has a smaller area, but tourists can still enjoy the facilities for outdoor activities. In addition to these parks is the Rocky Lake State Recreation Site, which has a 49-acre land area for similar activities for locals and tourists to entertain themselves with.
