Caloocan: The Historical, Motorcycle Capital of the Philippines
Caloocan City in Metro Manila is one of the most populous cities in the Philippines. This city has been nicknamed the "Motorcycle Capital" due to the number of motorcycle dealers in the area. Another nickname that the city has is the "Cradle of Katipunan" due to it being the seat of activities for the Katipunan - the secret Philippine revolutionary society during the occupation of the Spaniards in the country. Its main landmark is the Andrés Bonifacio Monument, also referred to as Bonifacio Monument or Monumento, for commemorating Andrés Bonifacio, the founder of the Katipunan.
Best Time to Visit
Due to the Philippines' tropical monsoon climate, Caloocan City can be visited anytime of the year. It is to be noted however that it could get very warm in the city during the summer, which is around the months of April to June.

Other landmarks that the City of Caloocan is known for are San Roque Parish and the Thai To Taoist Temple Pagoda, a landmark evidencing the presence of Chinese community who were one of the first settlers in the area. To know more about trains, you can visit Horace Higgins Hall – Philippine National Railways museum, named after the first general manager of the Manila Railroad Company now Philippine National Railways. You can also visit Tala Leprosarium or Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, considered to be the oldest leprosarium in Asia.
