Capitol Center for the Arts, Concord, New Hampshire, United States of America
Serving as an entertainment venue in the town of Concord, New Hampshire, the Capitol Center for the Arts is among the top tourist attractions in the area. It boasts of its Egyptian-inspired theater with 1,304 seating capacity. The facility is actually a renovation of the previous Capitol Theater, which has stood in the area from the late 1920's until the late 1980's. After the renovation, which lasted for several years, the new Capitol Center for the Arts was launched in 1995. It now accommodates Broadway shows and musicals, one of which has been a show of pianist George Winston.
Apart from the Capitol Center for the Arts, other notable landmarks in the area are the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium and New Hampshire State House, both in the town of Concord. The statehouse was designed back in 1814, but construction only began two years after. It is of a Greek Revival style featuring smooth granite blocks that give the building a medieval feel. On the other hand, you will also enjoy a visit to the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, a museum made in honor of Christa McAuliffe, the first-ever teacher in space, and Alan Shepard, one of the twelve astronauts to walk the moon. Around a 40-minute walk from the planetarium, you will reach the Holiday Inn Concord Downtown, a 3-star hotel with free continental breakfast, fitness center, and restaurant. For a more family-friendly option, check out the four-star The Centennial, where guests can enjoy premier en-suite amenities, on-site restaurant, and 24-hour business center.
