Chaudes-Aigues: Of Hot and Cold
Part of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region is the fancy spa town of Chaudes-Aigues, France. Its hot spring waters is what brought the town to the tourism spotlight in the department of Cantal. In fact, its name literally means hot waters and the hottest, naturally-occurring water in the entire European continent is found in town. The town has been a famous healing spa destination since the early 14th century.
Best Time to Visit
Chaudes-Aigues experiences a fairly cold weather throughout the entire year considering it is on the Alps Region. Light snow is also significant during winter season while moderate to heavy rainfall prevails any time of the year. If you wish to spend a great time outdoors while in town, it is best to visit between June and August. But if you wish to spend relaxing in one of the hot springs, it is a must to visit during winter season. Either way, both are jam-packed with tourists and Chaudes-Aigues FR hotels are pricey.
