Conca dei Marini: The Best of Amalfi Coast
A town in Salerno, Conca dei Marini, Italy was founded by the Etruscans as “Cossa”. It served as the trading base of the Republic of Amalfi in the Middle Ages.

Conca dei Marini has the perfect weather during the months of March through June and September through December. The busiest months are typically May through July. Tourists are least likely to visit in November. Every first week of August, locals celebrate Sfogliatella Santa Rosa. As the name of the event implies, it is a celebration of the famous Sfogliatella cake, which was invented by Santa Rosa convent nuns in the 17th century. Meanwhile, every August 5, the Feast of the Madonna delle Neve is held. Usually, it is observed with a mass held on the beach in front of the eponymous church. Then, there is a procession of local fishing boats sailing to Amalfi and back.
What to Do & Area Attractions
When in town, tourists should see the Emerald Grotta, one of the many caves flooded with an emerald light. The nature of the color in the waves depend on the lighting conditions in the waves. A fisherman discovered it in the early 20th century. Another interesting destination within the area is Church of San Pancrazio, which is wonderfully surrounded by an olive grove. Here, tourists may enjoy a fascinating view of the Faraglioni of Capri and Positano.
