Creel: Home of Raramuri Ethnic Group of Native Americans
Creel, Mexico is a town in Bocoyna, Chihuahua inhabited mostly by the raramuri ethnic group of Native Americans. It is the second biggest town in the municipality. It was founded as “Estacion Creel” in 1907.
Best Time to Visit
With a subtropical highland climate, the best time to visit Creel is during the months of November through March. The busiest months are usually January, May, and June. Tourists are least likely to visit in December.
What to Do & Area Attractions
One of the most popular nearby attractions is Basaseachic Falls in Ocampo. It is the second highest waterfall in the country. Surrounding it is another must-see attraction in the area, Basaseachic Falls National Park. It is famous for its pine-oak forest and rock formations. It has high cliffs that offer breathtaking scenic views. It is home to more than 90 conifer species and more than 70 oak species. There is also the nearby Cusarare Falls. Tourists should also visit Plaza de la Constitución or El Zocalo in Mexico City. Named after the Constitution of Cadiz, it is the main square of the city. It is the second world’s second biggest square. It was declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1987. It serves as a primary venue for demonstrations and parties. A lot of significant historical events have also taken place in the square.
