Da Nang International Airport – DAD
Da Nang International Airport is located in Da Nang, Vietnam. It serves the area of Da Nang, Vietnam’s largest city in central Vietnam. Operating under the IATA code DAD and the ICAO code VVDN, the airport sits at an elevation of 33 feet above mean sea level. This public and military airport is owned by the local government and is operated by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, a joint-stock company based in Ho Chi Minh City. Da Nang International Airport serves as the hub for Vietnam Airlines, which is the country’s flag carrier. It is also the focus city for Bamboo Airways. In 2018, the airport handled over 13.2 million passengers and over 30,015 metric tonnes of cargo.

The airport started operating in the 1940s. In the mid-1950s, the newly established Republic of Vietnam Air Force inherited it. It was named Da Nang International Airport in 1957. There are two runways and both have asphalt surfaces. Traffic volume averages at 100 to 150 flights every hour for 24 hours. Renovations, including the addition of a new terminal were completed in 2011. Some of the busiest airlines that serve DAD include Jetstar Pacific, VietJet Air, and Vietnam Airlines. Cities, towns, suburbs, and villages found near the airport include Dien Ban, Dien Duong, Phong Le, and Thuy Loan.
