Georgetown: A Mountain Small Town Full of Charming Beauty
Georgetown, Colorado is a Territorial Charter Municipality and is the county seat of Clear Creek County. It was established in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush and is initially a silver mining camp along Clear Creek in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. This is also the reason why Georgetown is known as the “Silver Queen of the Rockies,” because silver was discovered instead of gold. Georgetown is also famous for its huge lake which is visible directly from the highway and its street is full of Victorian era buildings and unique shops, restaurants and hotels.

It is in summer where most of the tourists visit the town mostly due to the Georgetown Loop Railroad where tourist can enjoy an hour and 15 minute journey through the town’s backyard. A good stop right in the middle of the town is the Georgetown Energy Museum; it is a small working museum where there are displays that can be played with. Other great museums to visit are the Georgetown Energy Museum and the Bowman-White House Museum.
