Holetown: Fun FunFun in the Whole Town!
A small town in the island country Barbados, Holetown was claimed by the English envoy under Captain John Powell. Originally named Jamestown, the area was later called Holetown after the River Thames’ Limehouse Hole. Holetown, Barbados has been twinned with Haringey in London, in an effort to promote cultural and commercial ties between Barbados and London. Today, Holetown is known as a vacation destination that offers a variety of attractions.
Best Time to Visit
Holetown’s temperatures are almost always hot; it is often humid and windy, with a chance of rain throughout the year. As such, most tourists flock to Holetown during the winter, as the temperature is not too hot. Winter also coincides with Holetown Festival Barbados, which celebrates the first coming of the settlers to the town. Logically, lodging and accommodations are quite expensive from December to February. The slowest season for tourism is spring, so if you wish to go on a holiday without the crowds, it is best to go to Holetown during June to August.
