About Sorell Hotels Hondrich
Sorell Hotels are a group of 18 independent three-star to four-star hotels under the management of Switzerland-based ZFV companies, a hotel, and catering firm with more than 3,000 staff. Sorell has a presence across ten cities, including Arosa, Dübendorf, Zurich, Spreitenbach, Winterthur, Basel, Berne, Rapperswil, Aarau, St. Gallen, Bad Ragaz, and Schaffhausen. Just last year, roughly 500 staff generated 59 million francs ($60 million) total sales.
A group of Zurich visionary women founded Sorell Hotels in 1897 with the take-over of Hotel Rütli. They were members of the "Women's Association for Moderateness and Popular Welfare," who were operating non-alcoholic restaurants back then. In 1900, it finished the construction of Hotel Zürichberg offering non-alcoholic Kurhaus and Volks. The years that followed saw rapid expansion with the additions of the KurhausRigiblick, the Hotel Seidenhof, and the Hotel Seefeld.
The Sorell Hotels brand was officially launched in 2002 by ZFV Hotels to commemorate Susanna Orelli, the founder. Other hotels which joined the brand include The Orelli House in Arosa, the Argovia Hotel in Aargau, the Hotel Arabelle in Platz Berne, the Hotel Tamina in Bad Ragaz, the Hotel Krone in Winterthur city center, the Hotel City Weissenstein in St. Gallen, and many more.
