One of the most popular events in the city is Jonesville Riverfest, which is held every May. It serves as a kick-off of the summer season in the county. It features arts and crafts vendors, bike and car show, duck derby, among others. Another nearby event to look forward to is Hillsdale County Fair in Hillsdale, which is held every September and/or October. The event features concessions, horseshoe tournaments, livestock, and still exhibits, parades, and talent show.

Ella Sharp Museum in nearby Jackson is one of the most famous attractions nearby. It is situated in the Ella Sharp House or Merriman-Sharp House, a 19th-century farmhouse that has been part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. The surrounding historical complex is home to several historic buildings. These include the 1840 log cabin, 1875 Dibble School, and the country store. Another interesting, nearby site to visit is the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea. Jeff Danuels established it in an old pizza parlor in 1991.
