Kajang, A Quiet Town to the South of Kuala Lumpur
Situated at about 30 minutes away from downtown Kuala Lumpur, Kajang is a town belonging to the state of Selangor. The Temuan people, an indigenous ethnic group in the country, first explored the area in the 1580s. They named the town as such because of the abundance of Kajang in the area, a kind of screw pine they used for roof making. You can fly to Kajang, Malaysia and land at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, both of which serve as significant airports of the country. Hotels and various types of transient homes dot the town, along with a couple of other businesses and recreational facilities.
Best Time to Visit
Kajang experiences hot weather all year long, with occasional rain showers here and there. This makes it a year-round go-to place for summer activities, but the recommended dates of travel are typically from early February to early March when Kajang, Malaysia hotels are at their lowest prices. Tourism is also slow by this season and starts to peak come June. March also happens to coincide with the nearby Kuala Lumpur’s annual MyBalloonFiesta, a colorful festivity featuring hot air balloons and cultural performances.
