Both runways have asphalted surfaces. The airport is a hub for Loganair that connects passengers to different destinations including Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and many more. Loganair also offers seasonal flights to Fair Isle, Manchester, and Bergen. The busiest route from KOI Airport is to Aberdeen. As of 2018, the airport saw 181,562 passenger boardings and 14,771 aircraft operations. Residents from nearby Millburn, Strathy, and Brough use the airport as well.
