Manciano: A Medieval Respite
Manciano sits atop a hill in Maremma, a secluded area in the south of Tuscany. With less than 8 million residents, Manciano, Italy is a gem of a town. Manciano was once surrounded by five kilometers of walls that have now been incorporated into the center of the city. In the center of Manciano lies a 12th-century fortress that is now a museum with a fantastic view. The hill upon which the town is built is covered in olive trees as old as the hill itself, making Manciano seem like magical a medieval village.
