Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The airport is named in honor of Jamaica’s former Prime Minister Sir Donald Sangster. MBJ is the most popular tourist airport for travelers who are visiting the northern coast of the country. In 2018, this major airport served over 4.5 million passengers.

Sangster International Airport started in 1936 and was originally called Montego Bay Airport. In 1940, plans were unveiled to construct the airport runway but were only completed in 1974. After the runway was launched, it became popular for people who can afford the luxuries of flying in and out of Montego Bay. This prompted Montego Bay to be a prime spot for holiday travel in the Caribbean region.
