It is a major public airport that is located in the region KM 10 Talang Betutu District, Palembang, Indonesia and serves the Palembang, South Sumatra and surrounding area. Its airport code, PLM, stands for the South Sumatra province capital city’s name Palembang. The airport was named after Palembang’s last sultan Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin. In 1985 all aviation activities of Talang Betutu Civil Airports were moved to Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport. Recently recorded, the airport averages 30 flights departure every day.
