Satun, Thailand is a town situated in the southern regions of Thailand and is the current capital of the Satun Province. The region goes as far as the whole of Phiman of the Mueang Satun Region. Also known as Satul, this small community is located near the shallow coastal waters, perfect for tourism but unsuitable for the development of a port. It is one of the fairly safe destinations in Thailand and serves as a gateway to many towns and interesting points of attractions near Satun.

Festivals such as the Songkran, Ok Phansa and the Loy Krathong bring crowds to this small town. The International Kite Festival is also regularly held in the region. To enjoy a great weather in the area and to avoid the heat as well as the busy streets, visit during months of winter from December to February in Satun.
