Schio: A Flourishing Wool Town of Northern Italy
Schio is a town in Veneto Region in the northern portion of Italy along the Leogra River. The town is a manufacturing center of machinery, cutlery and lumber enterprises that dramatically declined in 1797 during the Venetian Republic but has regained its dominance in the market in the 19th century with efforts exerted by Alessandro Rossi, a well-known industrialist. Schio, Italy also features a great number of historical sites and cultural attractions as well as natural beauty.

Schio can be best visited from May to September for it has the most ideal weather for sightseeing and exploring the place. April is also good time to visit in time for the Line Festival. This is a premier event in town featuring live music and dance performances. Tourists visiting this event should expect the streets and Schio hotels to be crowded and more expensive.
