Soba: A Postcard-Like Landscape
Nestled in a dense and thick forest is the lovely community of Soba, Spain. It is a part of the province of Cantabria. It is the ideal getaway if you want to stay close to nature and at the same time, not worry about the huge and noisy tourist crowd. The town only has a population that will not exceed 2000 residents. There are plenty of nature recreational areas for you to immerse yourself into, whether you are looking for bodies of land or water.
Best Time to Visit
Soba is one of those holiday destinations which has a comfortable weather all-year round. Although you still have to watch out for the moderate rain showers especially towards the end of the year. It is during the middle of the year when it is considered to be the best time to visit the town. As aforementioned, there are not a lot of tourists flocking over to the area as it is yet to be discovered. You can enjoy Soba hotels at lower prices too.
What to Do & Area Attractions
A short drive from Soba, you will be able to find the charming country house for rent called Hotel Casona de Quintana. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and surely, you will find peace. La Casa del Puente, a 4-star hotel overlooking the valley, is also an excellent choice. You can also check Aire de Ruesga as they provide free breakfast. Two waterfalls are nearby Soba. Both are majestic and you can dip in for a quick swim. These are the Ason Waterfalls and Rio Gandara Waterfalls. They are located in a natural reserve so you have to find hiking trails in order to get to them. The Gandara Mountains also have challenging hiking trails and the view at the peak is absolutely worth it.
