Solidarity Szczecin–Goleniów Airport – SZZ
The Solidarity Szczecin–Goleniów Airport is the Szczecin city’s main domestic and international airport. The airport is situated in the northeast portion of the city and serves Szczecin, Poland and the nearby towns of Goleniów. The Solidarity Szczecin–Goleniów Airport, whose airport code is SZZ, was constructed during the heights of the cold war. Its construction is for military purpose. The first civilian operation of the airport started in 1967 when the civilian airport at Dabie was transferred to the site. It was only in 2006 that the airport was renamed.
