Nestled in the heart of the historic downtown of Richmond, Virginia, Valentine Richmond History Center is a place for both locals and tourists to discover the diverse stories that tell the history of the region. The center has been collecting, interpreting, and preserving the city’s 40-year history for over a century. Founded in 1898 by Mann S. Valentine II, Valentine Richmond History Center was the first museum in Richmond, Virginia. The museum has several rotating exhibitions that include clothes, photographs, textiles, and historical based exhibit that impacted the city in many ways. Its permanent exhibition, called “This is Richmond, Virginia,” is displayed on the main level of the museum. 

For those who want to experience more of nature, they can visit the town of Midlothian, just a few miles away from Richmond.
