Established in 1987, Fagernes Airport, Leirin is a general aviation airport that serves the city of Fagernes and surrounding valleys Valdres, Hallingdal and Gudbrandsdal in thesouthern region of Norway. It is located in Fagernes, Oppland in Norway, owned and operated by state-owned company Avinor. While it used to offer commercial and charter services, the airport is now used purely for general aviation.

Fagernes Airport, Leirin has a single asphalt runway measuring at 6,722 feet with an elevation of 2,697 feet above mean sea level. The airport was initially meant to be a regional airport, but plans changed during construction and adjustments were made to accommodate larger aircrafts. VDB Airport went on to become an international airport with ownership changing several times since its inception. Within the airport grounds, there’s a 19,000-square-feet terminal building as well as a convenient shuttle service to the Fagernes town center. When in Fagernes, you can also stop to visit the Faberg and Lillehammer.
