William A Egan Civic and Convention Center, Anchorage, Alaska, United States Of America

Commonly known as the Egan Center, the William A. Egan Civic and Convention Center is a 45,000 square foot convention center situated in downtown Anchorage, Alaska. It was constructed in 1984 and replaced the original Z.J. Loussac Library, which opened in the same place in 1955. The convention center was named after William Allen Egan, Alaska’s first governor. It features an exceptional glass front that runs the entire length of the facility and provides the reception area and giant Ficus retusa plant with plenty of natural lighting. William A. Egan Civic and Convention Center is connected to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts through a sky walk across Fifth Avenue.
