Xiaogan: Find Peace in the Outdoors in this Metropolitan City
Xiaogan is a city located eastern Hubei, China. Like many of China’s metropolitan centers, it is densely populated, having a population that, as of 2010, numbered 4.8 million. “Xiaogan” means “Filial Piety Moves (the Heaven)”, and is derived from a story from “The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars”, where a man, Dong Yong, sells himself into slavery to try to pay for his father’s funeral. Xiaogan, China is a large city, covering almost 3,500 square miles. The airport nearest to Xiaogan is the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Xiaogan, China is generally from around April to October. This period sees the warmest and most pleasant temperature with little to no rainfall. Fall is a good time to visit China to avoid large tourist crowds. As Hubei is already naturally crowded, this season, when most students are back at school, is considerably sparser in terms of tourists than in the summer. February is another exciting time to visit the country just in time for the exciting festivities of Chinese New Year.

Dongyong Park is a public park in Xiaonan District featuring traditional Chinese architecture and sculptures. It is particularly scenic in the fall, when the park becomes lined with autumn foliage.
