Agonda: For the Sun, Sand, and Sea Turtles
Famed for its beaches that are also turtle nesting sites is the coastal city of Agonda, India. The city is the perfect summer holiday destination. Aside from the pristine beaches, there are also colorful temples you can check out. It is also very quiet in the city, away from the usual hustle and the loud footsteps of many tourists. Food and accommodations, among other things, are also relatively cheaper than most parts of India.
Best Time to Visit
Agonda is best visited during the summer and that is a fact. Summer runs through months of March to May. Visitors of the charming resort town may enjoy the bright sun and the scorching sand. However, it is between October and March when there is a high volume of travelers in the area as during these months are the turtles’ hatching months and when the Seeds of Change Festival takes place. Agonda hotels are also pricey these months.

The seemingly endless Agonda Beach is the most famous beach in the province. It boasts of its pristine white sand and cerulean waters. You have to be careful though as it can get a bit steep in the waters especially during high tides. You can also check out Palolem Beach nearby. But it is more crowded over there. Pay a visit to Partagal Matha Temple, one of the most visited religious temple in the province. Right in front of the Agonda Beach is the Cupid's Heaven Resort, a place where you can definitely get your value for money. It has modern rooms and very comfortable beds.
