Best Time to Visit
AQI Airport started with humble beginnings. It first began in 1962 with a dusty runway meant to cater to Dakota aircraft. At the time the aircraft carried Saudi Aramco employees between different stations. Today, the airport has a 2 miles long runway that is able to accommodate a Boeing 737 and features an asphalted surface. The airport stands on land elevated at 1,174 feet above mean sea level. It sits on a total land area of 11 million square meters and is complete with a passenger terminal, water treatment, sewage systems, and even a stand-by power plant. Nesma Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines offer passenger service to Ha’il and Jeddah, Riyadh.
