Brive-la-Gaillarde: Religious Escape Near Churches and Museums
Brive-la-Gaillarde, France was originally known as Brive up until the early 1900s and was given its present name in 1919. The world Gaillarde, added to the original name refers to the walls that surround the city. Brive-la-Gaillarde offers a huge food market enjoyed by locals and tourists in the area three times a week. It is the biggest commune in Correze and is home to the Labenche Art and History Museum. The city is twinned with Joliette in Canada, Sikasso in Mali, Lauf der Pegnitz in Germany and Guimaraes in Portugal.
