Cap-Haiten International Airport is one of the major airports that connect Haiti to other major airports in the world such as Cibao International Airport, Miami International Airport, and airports in the Caribbean Islands as well as the Providenciales International Airport. Situated in Cap-Haiten, Haiti, CAP Airport is the second largest airport in the country. The airport was originally set to take a name after former Venezuela President Hugh Chavez. However, plans in changing the airport’s name did not pushed through, thus the airport keeping its original name.

The airport has a single concrete runway that was extended to 7,500 feet and completely repaved back in 2013. Cap-Haiten International Airport sits at 3 meters above mean sea level. It features a single terminal that serves both domestic and international flights. There are plenty of areas to visit near the Cap-Haïtien International Airport. The closest of which is Milot, a commune in the Nord area, 12 miles from the airport and is the home of the Sans-Souci Palace, one of the most loved and prominent landmarks in all of Haiti.
