Caulonia, Italy is one of the communities located in Reggio Calabria. The region was originally called Castelvetere. In 1862, the region took the name Caulonia after the ancient city of Caulonia. One of the captivating local attractions in the region is the Caulonia Superiore. This landmark is built on a steep hill and was once a fortress located in the further inland island of Caulonia but close to the coastal area.
