Coin - A Town to Treasure
Coin, Spain is truly a treasure to behold. It is a town rich in history and culture. Visitors driving to Coin will go through different fields of olives, lemons, orchards, almonds, and even forests. It is no wonder that the town is fondly called the “town of three hundred trees”. Coin is actually pronounced phonetically, so rather than the word coin, it is pronounced “co-inn”. It isn’t the usual place to visit when in Spain but it makes for a nice day trip from the usually crowded coast of Costa del Sol. Getting to Coin is easy but may be far at first. However, it is only around 21 miles from Malaga and 18 miles from Marbella. To get to Coin, visitors will land in the nearest Malaga Airport – Costa del Sol (AGP).
Best Time to Visit
The best weather in Coin is around the month of April, May and October. These are the perfect months for visiting the town as there is little to no rain to hamper the town’s exploration or even making a visit to the nearby coastal towns. It can get pretty crowded in July as the number of tourists peak during this time. It is also a great time to visit Coin during the Sacab Coin, a local horse exhibition but is one of the most important festivals in the country’s equestrian world.
What to Do & Area Attractions
