Changsha Huanghua International Airport is a public airport operated by the Hunan Airport Management Group Co., Ltd. The airport serves the areas of Changsha, China as well as Xiangtan and Zhuzhou. These are areas located in Hunan Province. Owned by the province itself, the airport replaced the Changsha Tuopu Airport in serving commercial flights to and from the airport Changsha Datuopu Airport is now being used as a military air base.

There are two terminals in the airport, Terminal 1 that has 3 concourses and Terminal 2 that has 22 bridge gates. Terminal 2 is considered to be the 5th largest airport terminal located in mainland China. This terminal also has one of the longest passenger walking distances in an airport - 0.18 miles. During peak hours, Terminal 2 can accommodate around 3,940 passengers per hour. Changsha Huanghua International Airport had a total of 25,266,251 passenger served in 2018. Liuyang and Wangcheng County are perfect places to explore when staying near the airport. Archeological sites, pottery exhibits, museums and areas perfect for camping and paragliding can be enjoyed in the Wangcheng County.
