Cancun International Airport – CUN
Known by the airport code of CUN, Cancun International Airport is a public airport found in the town of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It serves the city of Cancun and other nearby cities. The airport is considered the fourth busiest airport in Latin America and the second most active in the country of Mexico after Mexico City International Airport. Since its drastic increase in passengers, the airport underwent several expansion projects over the years, one of the recent being in 2017.
Best Time to Visit
CUN-Cancun International Airport, which opened its services in 1974, accommodated more than 25 million passengers in 2018, almost a 7% increase from its previous passenger statistics in 2017. It features two parallel runways, one with a length of 3.5 kilometers and one with 2.8 kilometers, where two aircraft can land or take-off simultaneously. The airport also became a hub for a few airlines and offered flights to no less than 20 domestic destinations and 30 international destinations. There are currently four terminals in the airport, one of which was recently constructed in 2017. From CUN, make sure to explore the towns of Avenida Kukulkan, Punta Sam, and Isla Mujeres.
