Daejeon: A City of Cutting Edge Science and Scenic Views
With a population of 1.5 million, Daejong, South Korea is the country’s 5th largest city. From its roots as a small town, Daejong is now a transit hub for the country, as it is located at the center of Korea, with two railways and two transport routes passing through it. The city also prides itself in being the “Silicon Valley of Korea,” a nickname it earned for becoming a core city of research and development and for being the cradle of Korea’s advanced technology.
Best Time to Visit
Daejeon is a year-round tourist destination. Tourism peaks in June to August, so if you wish to go at this time, be prepared for higher accommodation rates. If you wish to get great hotel deals and the best lodging rates (as you should), you can visit Daejeon, South Korea at some other time, or plan your arrival to coincide with special events like the Mt. Gyejoksan Barefoot Festival in May or the Daejeon International Wine & Sprits Fair in September.
What to Do & Area Attractions
