Dinard: Famed French Summer Destination
Dinard, France is a commune popular for its beaches. In fact, it is one of the most coveted seaside resorts in the country. As such, it is a favorite French holiday destination. This goes way back in the late 19th century when aristocrats made it known as a summer destination. It was first known as “Saint-Enogat” until it was renamed to “Dinard Saint-Enogat” in 1879. Then, in 1921, it finally became “Dinard”.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Dinard is during the months of May through October. Peak tourist season is typically from June through August. People do not usually visit in November, which means cheaper hotel rates during this month. One of the most anticipated events in the commune is the International Music Festival every August. The classical music concerts aim to reconnect locals with the Dinardian tradition. Another festival that interests tourists is the British Film Festival every October. Since 1990, it has been providing an avenue for all filmmakers aspiring to enter the European film industry. Over the course of five (5) days, people get to enjoy six (6) competing films, at least 10 premieres, and at least 20 short films.
