Elko Regional Airport – EKO
Elko Regional Airport is the airport serving the city of Elko, Nevada. It is considered to be one of the earliest airports ever built in the United States. It was first used as an air mail run for the US Post Office then became an airfield for the US Army. In 1975, EKO – Elko Regional Airport was named J.C. Harris Field, in honor of a local sheriff known as “The Flying Sheriff.”

There is only one passenger terminal and two runways at Elko Regional Airport (EKO). It is a non-hub commercial service airport according to the United States Federal Aviation Administration. A single airline, Delta Connections/Airlines, flies in and out of EKO with a route to and from Salt Lake City, Utah. Most of the other aviation are for medical flights, firefighting air service, and business jets. Within 30 minutes to an hour drive from Elko are nearby cities: Carlin, and Wells.
