Foligno, Italy, is an ancient town that lies along the Topino River and the third largest city in Umbria Regione, province of Perugia. This was previously the settlement of Umbrians as the Romans conquered it after the Battle of Sentinum. Foligno was famous in the 15th century as a school of painting, it is known for Raphael’s Madonna of Foligno which is now located in the Vatican, and also for the first printed edition of Dante’s Divine Comedy which was published first in 1472. Foligno is an industrial centre that has sugar refineries and textile-building materials.

The ideal time to visit Foligno is from months of June until September as the weather is very pleasant or warm and has limited rainfall. One of the most awaited festivals is being held during this timeframe and that is the Humorfest. While other known festivals are something to look forward to in visiting Foligno like the Festival of Patron St. Feliciano and the music and theater festival Quintain Joust and Segni Barocchi.
