Federicia: Denmark’s Port Town
Fredericia is a fortress town located in Jutland, Denmark and was named about Frederick III who also founded the town. A fun fact about Fredericia is that it almost became the capital of Denmark due to its location and its ports but Copenhagen retained it because of its big population. Though there is no airport within the vicinity of the town, visitors can always go through airports adjacent to the area such as Esbjerg Airport (EBJ) and then take a bus.
Best Time to Visit
Every 6th of July, Fredericia holds a festival to honor the Battle of 1849 Fredericia where the Danish won against the Schleswig-Holstein rebels. If you are interested in history, this is a festival you shouldn’t miss out on. Fredericia, Denmark is also close to the bridge connecting Funen and Jutland making the town a great halfway point for those who are travelling across the country or hoping to visit other places easily.
