Francistown International Airport is located along the western edge of Francistown, Botswana. Also called the Phillip Gaonwe Matante International Airport, this airport is used by both military and public services. It is one of the four South African international airports. FRW-Botswana International Airport is operated by the Civil Government as well as the Botswana Defence Force. It has two asphalt runways with directions 11/29 and 13/31, respectively. In 2011, the Francistown International Airport inaugurated its new terminal building. The airport’s old terminal at the eastern end was relegated to the Botswana Defence Force.
