Ibusuki: Visit Japan’s Sand Bath City
Known for its sand bath, Ibusuki is a city in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Located south of Satsuma peninsula, the city is a seaside resort, with a good view of the Mt. Kaimon. Sand bathing is done through burying the person’s body in the sand heated by natural steam from below. It usually lasts for 10 to 20 minutes then the guest will wash off the sands and take hot spring bath. The city has many other attractions aside from this. Going in and out of the city can be easily availed through the IKagoshima Airport. Hotels and accommodations that surround the area are plenty.

Based on the region’s climate, the best time of the year to visit Ibusuki, Japan is from early April to late June. The Ibusuki Onsen festival is a big event in Ibusuki. It is an annual religious festival which attracts visitors from different places to worship and enjoy the events and see hanyaodori dancing, fireworks and stage show.
