Ibiza Airport - IBZ Ibiza
The Ibiza Airport started as a temporary military airport during the Spanish Civil War. It remained open and served as an emergency airport post-war. In 1949, it started serving domestic and international commercial flights in Ibiza, Spain until it closed in 1951. Seven (7) years later, efforts were initiated to reopen the airport due to the rapidly growing local tourism market. In 1966, it opened its doors to international traffic and customs, operating 24 hours a day. What is unique about it is that it offers guided educational tours to students during off-peak season, from November to April.
