Ko Mook: Exploring Pearl Island in Southern Thailand
Ko Mook, Thailand, is also referred to as Ko Muk and found in the region of the Southern Andaman, in the southern section of the country. The word “muk” translates to “pearl,” making the island’s name literally mean “Pearl Island.” The primary industry in the city is tourism, so plenty of resorts and hotels dot the coastal part of the island.
Best Time to Visit
March promises visitors with comfortable weather and cheaper Ko Mook, Thailand hotels. This is because the spring season is the least active season for tourism in the city. However, you can still attend some festivities on the neighboring island of Koh Lanta. The Laanta Lanta Festival, held in the first full moon of the month, showcases the cultural diversity of the islands in the region. This is a lesser-known activity in the country, so expect fewer tourists in the town, as well. On the other hand, coming to Ko Mook in the winter will mean blending in with the crowd as the tourist population during this season is at its highest for the year.
