Lages, Brazil is a municipality in Santa Catarina with significant cattle breeding and wood processing industries. It is the biggest municipality in the state. It became a village in 1766 and a city in 1860.

With a subtropical highland climate, the perfect time to visit Lages is during the months of April through December. Peak tourist season is usually during the months of January, June, and July. Tourists are least likely to visit in October. One of the most anticipated events in the municipality is Festa Do Pinhão, which is held every June. It is a gastronomic event celebrating pine. Held for 11 days, it is the biggest traditionalist party in the country. It features contests, dances, music shows, and product fair.

Nereu Ramos Memorial is one of the must-see attractions in the area. It is a biographical museum honoring the life of Nereu Ramos, an illustrious politician from the state. You can shop at the Boulevard Lages Shopping Center, which has bazaars, shops and restaurants. Tourists should also visit Thiago de Castro Historical Museum, which was curated by Danilo Thiago de Castro. Inaugurated in 1960, it features documents and photos from the 19th century.
