Lermoos: A Wintersport Haven in Austria
Lermoos is one of the oldest towns in Ausserfern, Austria. Its earliest mention dates back as early as 1020 AD. It lies between the Wetterstein mountain range and the Ammergau Alps, making it a popular spot for biking and hiking. Once it starts snowing, it gets transformed into a snowboarding and skiing haven. Aside from its challenging trails, it also provides a scenic view of Zugspitze, Germany’s tallest mountains, which contributes to it being a top vacation destination.
Best Time to Visit
If you are going for warm-weather activities, it is best to go to this town from around March to May. The actual winter season is freezing cold, so it is best to go here when it starts snowing at around August to November. Expect Lermoos lodgings to be crowded, especially during September, the busiest time of the year.
