Marburg: Brothers Grimm and the Medieval
Marburg, Germany sits along the valley of the Lanh River with its population majority consisting of students. Hence, it is called a university town. Marburg has a deep-rooted history that dates back as far as the early 11th century. It is an hour drive from Frankfurt, Germany and many visitors who happen to stumble upon this small student town are mesmerized. It is pretty much cold and partly cloudy all year-round over at Marburg with just short comfortable months from June to August. It is ideal to explore the town during these short summer months where you can enjoy long walks without worrying about freezing. There are a few festivals and events celebrated annually in the town but most of them take place early or late in the year. For example, like the rest of the country, the town celebrates the world-famous beer festival Oktoberfest every October.

Saint Elizabeth Church is also one of the well-visited medieval churches in the area.
