Mariehamn Airport is located in the territory of Finland specifically in Jomala, Aland. Taken from the town’s name, the airport is situated two miles northwest of the town center in Mariehamn, on the right by the sea. Finavia, a state-owned airport operator runs the airport, which catered to 61,568 passengers in the year 2017. The airport is focused on commercial and general aviation services. The island is demilitarized, which is why there are no records of military aircrafts in the airport. In 1963, the Aero Flight 217 aviation had an accident near the vicinity of the airport with reported deaths of 22 passengers.
