Montefiascone: A History of Religion and Fine Wine
Overlooking Lake Bolsena from a hill at Viterbo, Italy lies Montefiascone. It witnessed the rise and falls of the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages and became a home to several Popes until it became part of Italy in 1870. This historical town is known for its white wine called Est!!! Est!!! Est!!!, which is also a name of one of Viterbo’s region. It is also a good place to taste Italian cuisine.

Montefiascone can be best reached through a bus from the Viterbo bus station, which is only 4km away from the town. It has a Mediterranean climate and the best time to explore it is from May to October when the temperature is mild and warm.
