Montepaone Lido: Feeling the Sand in Your Toes
Sitting on the Italian Ionian Sea is the coastal town of Montepaone Lido, Italy under a municipality of the same name. It is situated in the Calabria region. It has one of the most beautiful beaches in the gulf thus, making it a fairly popular summer spot. There are only less than 3000 residents living in the town so you can definitely enjoy a tranquil environment if you pay a visit.
Best Time to Visit
Montepaone Lido has a prevalent dry and wet season. Half of the year – most especially during the middle of the year – it is dry and warm in the city. Otherwise, it is cold and little to moderate rainfall is experienced. It is best to come in town during summer from June to August when you can fully enjoy the beach. No need to worry about Montepaone Lido ITL hotels being expensive because there are not a lot of tourists in the area yet.
What to Do & Area Attractions
Just a short walking distance from the beach is the opulent, four-star Mirabeau Park Hotel. Rooms can either have a view of the turquoise waters or the hilly tops surrounding the other area of the town. Hotel Villaggio Calaghena is also a top choice, having an expansive garden and outdoor swimming pool. There is also the affordable Baia dell'est set on top of a hill and serves complimentary breakfast. There are many beaches surrounding the town but perhaps two of the highly-rated ones are Scoglio la Petra Grande and Calalunga. Aside from swimming, you can enjoy water-sports activities such as rafting or kayaking. The Chateau de Squillace is a historical landmark that may pique your interest so it is worth checking out.
