Montrouge: Paint The Town Red
About three miles from the ever-busy Paris is the suburb of Montrouge, France. Its name literally translates into “Red Mountain” because of the reddish color of the land. The town has a deep-rooted history, from having monasteries to quarries to windmills, it has changed a lot over the many centuries. A little over 20 minutes away is the Orly Airport (ORY), an international airport with several daily flights to European, American, and Asian countries.
Best Time to Visit
Montrouge is cold for half a year and warm for the other half. The months between May and June and August and September have the most favorable weather and thus, is the best time to enjoy exploring the town. There is also less influx of tourists and cheaper Montrouge FR hotels during these months. Do note that little to moderate rain showers are expected throughout the year. Every March, the Guitares au Befroi Festival takes place.
